I would though like to give credit where it's deserved. The guide during the wine cellar tour (Rebeca) was great - smart, funny and very interesting.

Superb food & wine in magnificent restaurant with views to die for. Out of season especially incredible value for money.

We had to ask for more glasses because they didn't count the number of people then ask again to put for more bread as not enough for the number of people who were doing the visit and wait for long time, also the use a French company for the cork. More information about the wine would be better.

Had a fun tour. Vineyard is not so old but as a business very well built. Interesting to hear the story and the lady that did the tour was a lot of fun.

When we checked out the following day, explaining what had happened, the manager offered no solution or compensation apart from a curt 'sorry'! We filled in an official complaint form. Needless to say we will not be returning!

We were a group of 4 that went there to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. We booked 2 rooms, the wine-cellar tour and wine-tasting , and the dinner experience (they sell this as an exclusive 5 course set meal) . I don't eat meat due to allergies so I checked when making the booking whether this would be a problem. I was reassured it wouldn't be and they confirmed this during our checkin. Our first surprise came with the 'pincho' that is served during the wine-tasting. They served everyone chorizo and bread. I mentioned that I had notified the establishment that I didn't eat meat. The attendant shrugged and said I could eat a piece of bread with olive oil if I wished, but no alternative could be provided. Then came the dinner odyssey: after a tasty cold asparagus cream soup (which was the best thing we were served), they served us all a large stuffed clam. It occurred to me to ask whether it had any meat in it and the server said "it has a few bits of cured Spanish ham but you can just pull the pieces out". Despite our shock with the reply, we politely explained this wasn't an option as I don't eat meat and specified this upon making the booking. After a bit of a back and forth, she reluctantly headed back to the kitchen. Someone who we assume was the Chef at the moment came out, apologised and said I would be given something else. 10 minutes later, I was served 4 canned asparagus and a handful of sautéed mushrooms (the next morning I realised they're exactly the same ones they serve at the breakfast buffet). Then came the main course. Suffice to say that none of us were able to stomach what we were given. I was given a small medallion of monkfish (about the size of the lid of a soda can) over a bed of vegetables. It was so dry and overcooked that I had to really go at it with my knife to even get a bite. And it was as chewy as it was dry. After 2 bites, I preferred to drink my wine (which was much better than the food). The rest of the group was given a meat based dish - a say meat based because we still haven't managed to figure out yet what the jellyish lump was. Desert was in the same line.

Friendly staff, really nice place for a novice like myself to enjoy a taste of wine. Prefer reds which was not an issue in Rioja. Try the reserva. Beautiful grounds to walk, cool architecture
